ERIA Participates in the 42nd ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting and its Associated Meetings in Vientiane, Lao PDR

Vientiane, 26-27 September 2024: ERIA participated in the 42nd ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting in Vientiane, Lao PDR. On 26 September, Dr Nuki Agya Utama spoke at the ASEAN Energy Business Forum, where he introduced the new ERIA-Asia Zero Emission Centre.

On 27 September, ERIA President Tetsuya Watanabe presented ‘Highlights of ERIA’s Energy Policy Research: Realising Decarbonisation in ASEAN and East Asia’ at the East Asia Summit – Energy Ministers Meeting (EAS-EMM).

At both events, ERIA emphasised the importance of pursuing diverse pathways towards decarbonisation. Dr Utama and President Watanabe also showcased the key activities and research areas of the Asia Zero Emission Center and highlighted ERIA's support for Lao PDR's ASEAN Chairmanship through the publication of an Energy Security White Paper.
