ERIA was invited to the Workshop on ASEAN+3 Partnership on Connectivity which was held on June 15, 2012 in Bangkok, Thailand. It was opened by H.E. Mr. Pradap Pibulsonggram, Thai Representative to the ASEAN Connectivity Coordinating Committee.

As representative of ERIA, Mr. Hiroyuki Kato, Special Advisor to the Executive Director of ERIA, attended and made a presentation entitled "Enhancing ASEAN+ Physical Connectivity" in session 1. The session 1 was moderated by H.E. Mr. I Gede Ngurah Swajaya, Permanent Representative of Indonesia to ASEAN. Other panelists were Prof. Wang Yuzhu, Head of Department of Regional Cooperation and Global Governance and Dr. Rattanatay Luanglatbandith, Regional Economist of Asia Development Bank.

Mr. Kato explained ERIA's activities which contribute to enhance Physical Connectivity in the region, highlighting ERIA's key priority projects, these are Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity (MPAC) and Comprehensive Asia Development Plan (CADP).

ERIA's presentation including message about the importance of improvement of Connectivity in ASEAN and East Asia by further extending its geographical coverage, ASEAN+ region, was appreciated at the Workshop.
