Mid-Term Review of Implementation of AEC Blueprint Officially Released at ABIS

On the sideline of the Summit, ASEAN Business & Investment Summit (ABIS) 2012 was organized in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, November 16-18, 2012.

The program of ABIS�is closely being coordinated between the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC). The Cambodia Chamber of Commerce is the lead organization for the event. More than 800 government officials, business executives, international institution representatives, and academia from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) gathered to discuss ways to broaden business and investment opportunities in the region. The Summit was a good opportunity to discuss and strengthen cooperation and partnership between the governments and private sectors in order to promote business and investment in industries.

Prof. Hidetoshi Nishimura, Executive Director of ERIA, invited to the session "Looking Forward: What Does the Future Hold for ASEAN?" moderated by H.E. Cham Prasidh, Senior Minister and Minister of Commerce, Kingdom of Cambodia on November 18, 2012 as a speaker. Prof. Nishimura made a presentation on "Toward AEC 2015 as ASEAN's Landmark Achievement", reporting viewpoint from the final report of Mid-Term Review of the Implementation of AEC Blueprint. Executive Summary of the Mid Term Review of Implementation of AEC Blueprint and its translation in the languages of Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam was officially released and circulated to the public.
