The crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic was centered on the real sector. This crisis is different from several previous crises which were centered on the financial sector. Because the role and policy steps of the Ministry of Trade in responding to the crisis caused by Covid 19 are very crucial, namely in ensuring that economic transactions continue to run effectively and efficiently despite restrictions on mobility for economic actors.

The role of the Ministry of Trade in accelerating recovery and mitigating the negative impact of global uncertainty includes trade policy measures aimed at strengthening global supply chains, expanding global value chain participation, controlling inflation, and accelerating the transformation of Indonesia's export structure.
