Mr. Takahiko Kondo, Chairman of the New Energy Foundation (NEF) of Japan, called on Mr. Hidetoshi Nishimura, Executive Director, ERIA, on 2 December 2010 at the occasion of 7th Biomass-Asia Workshop held in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Mr. Kondo expressed his appreciation on ERIA's generous support to the Workshop in which several outcomes of ERIA research activities in the field of biomass energy and utilization were also reported on.

Mr. Nishimura briefed on the recent developments of ERIA with stress upon importance of biomass related researches for the sustainable economic development in the East Asia region which has a vast potential of biomass resources. Mr. Kondo renewed his recognition of substantial roles of ERIA and reaffirmed the continuous support for the fruitful cooperation between the two organizations.
