The second technical workshop on "Towards Competitive and Innovative ASEAN SMEs: ASEAN SME Policy Index" was held on 27-28 May 2013, at ERIA Annex Office, Jakarta, with the participation from 10 Working Group (WG) members from ASEAN member states (AMSs), officials from ASEAN Secretariat, representative from Indonesia's ASEAN SME Working Group, and experts from the OECD.

The objective of this workshop is to discuss the preliminary results and draft country reports.

During the meeting, the WG members made presentations on their country's report, actively discussed the findings and exchanged views with expert participations on the robustness of their index scorings in order to objectively reflect strengths and weakness in the implementation of the SME development policies in each AMSs and to find innovative ways to further improve policy environment for SME development.

The workshop was concluded by having all WG members agreed to further improve the reports by collecting more information, conducting data analysis, and consultations with countries' stakeholders before the reports can be submitted to the ASEAN SME Working Group for their review and suggestions, and be finalized by August 2013.
