ERIA organized a Seminar on South Korea's FTA Strategy on 12 February 2013 at ERIA Annex Office. Dr. Yul Sohn of Yonsei University, Dr. Yong Wook Lee of Korea University, Dr. Chaesung Chun of Seoul national University and Dr. Yeongkwan Song of Korea Development Institute visited ERIA for the seminar and made presentations.

The Korean experts have been studying on new FTA policy of Korea as one of the projects of Korea Development Institute, with background of their new government, recent global and regional environments, and changing domestic political landscape. ERIA experts discussed how Korea's new FTA policy may help deepen economic integration through the establishment of RCEP, and reshape the global governance. ERIA experts also contributed their insights on how the ASEAN Economic Community efforts and the existing ASEAN+1 FTAs may fit Korea's new FTA policy. The study by Korean experts is expected to be finalized by the end of March.
