Preparatory Meeting of ASEAN Economic Ministers was held in Jakarta, Indonesia, on 4 May 2011. Mr. Hidetoshi Nishimura, Executive Director of ERIA, was invited the meeting.

During the meeting, Mr. Nishimura made a presentation on ERIA's recent activities to all participants including Economic Ministers in ASEAN member states and Dr. Surin Pitsuwan, Secretary-General of ASEAN. After the presentation, Chair of the meeting, Ms. Mari Pangestu (Minister of Trade of Indonesia) expressed her appreciation towards contribution of ERIA and looked forward to further contribution.
