The Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) and University of South Wales, Australia held a joint workshop on "Institutional Assessment to Develop PPP System in Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Myanmar" in Melbourne, February 14-15, 2013.

The workshop discussed current situation of infrastructure development in CLM (Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar) countries by focusing on Public-Private Partnership scheme. Even though to adopt PPP system in these countries still has a long way to go, the concept of partnership between private and public sectors are not unusual and applied in various forms. There are a lot of potential projects waiting for development partners.

The workshop speakers come from ERIA researcher, working group members, and PPP practitioners from Victoria State. The participants also enjoyed luncheon talk with partners and senior managers of PWC Melbourne and Government of Melbourne, facilitated by Austrade. To follow up the study, there will be Final Workshop in mid of 2013.
