ERIA organized "Dialogue on ASEAN Tourism" in Lombok, Indonesia on April 25, 2013.
H.E. Mr. Toshihiro Nikai, Member of Japanese House of Representatives (Chairman of Parliamentary League for ERIA), H.E. Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gde Pitana, Deputy Minister for Human Resources Development, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, H.E. Mr. Yoshinori Katori, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Indonesia, and H.E. Mr. Lalu Gita Aryadi, Head of Cultrual and Tourism Bureau, West Nusa Tenggara, addressed the Dialogue.
In session 1 on "Promoting People-to-People Connectivity in ASEAN", Prof. Hidetoshi Nishimura, Executive Director of ERIA, made a presentation on "Boosting Tourism Sector and People-to-People Connectivity in ASEAN", explaining about the big potential for tourism sector in ASEAN Member States. He said that "overcoming the obstacles towards ASEAN integration, boosting ASEAN tourism sector and enhancing connectivity with Japan will make East Asia the most promising tourism market in the world". The participants shared their knowledge about Indonesia and Lombok�island's unique�place in tourist's itenerary.
