Economist of ERIA Shares ERIA Studies on the ASEAN-India Connectivity

Mr. Ikumo Isono, economist of ERIA was invited to an ADB brainstorming meeting on the Bay of Bengal Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) - Transport Infrastructure and Logistics Study (BTILS) on May 20, 2013 at the ADB Headquarters, Manila, the Philippines.

Other international experts on inter-regional infrastructure, connectivity and economic corridors, ADB staff and consultants working on the BTILS also attended the meeting.

Mr. Isono shared ERIA studies on the ASEAN-India connectivity, including the Comprehensive Asia Development Plan (CADP), the CADP phase 2 and the Myanmar Comprehensive Development Vision (MDCV) with the participants. He also presented a latest simulation result with the IDE/ERIA-Geographical Simulation Model and emphasized the importance of strategic prioritization and combination of infrastructure development to achieve effective connectivity enhancement.
