MOU for Enhanced Cooperation between ERIA and JICA

ERIA and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed an MOU on 22 September 2010 in Tokyo, Japan, to further enhance cooperation between the two organizations.

The objective of the MOU is to provide a framework for cooperation between ERIA and JICA in matters of common interest, particularly with regard to (i) deepening economic integration, (ii) narrowing development gap, and (iii) sustainable economic development of ASEAN and East Asia. On the occasion of signing of the MOU, Mr. Hidetoshi Nishimura, Executive Director of ERIA and Mr. Kenzo Oshima, Senior Vice-President of JICA recognised the growing importance of ASEAN and East Asia region in the global economy and also agreed upon the need to enhance the solidarity between the two organizations.

Cooperation of the two organizations is expected to accelerate the economic integration as well as sustainable development of the region.
