Kuala Lumpur, 4 January 2021: Dr Intan Ramli, ERIA Policy Fellow, has been appointed by the Asia Pacific FDI Network as the Director of the Economic Integration Program as part of a Board comprised of member-elected directors who serve three-year terms. The collective wisdom, experience, diversity, and passion of the Board ultimately sets and executes the Asia-Pacific FDI Network purpose and values.

The Asia Pacific FDI Network is a new initiative which has been launched with the objective to structure and organize a network of researchers, scholars, and practitioners. It builds upon the series of Asia Pacific FDI Forums organized since 2015. Past meetings of the Asia Pacific FDI Forum have hosted discussions on a wide variety of themes including APAC’s agreements within the context of global trends; regionalization in rule-making; the complementary nature of Chinese bilateral, regional and multilateral initiatives; economic and legal consequences of the China-European Union Bilateral Investment Treaty; legal and regulatory frameworks governing operations of SEZs; and possible violations of World Trade Organisation law.

The Network brings together about 150 researchers, scholars, and practitioners in the field of FDI. The Network will organize regular events and assist members in the organization and promotion of their events. The Network will also provide a platform to attract consultancy, expert witness, and arbitration engagements for its members with a strong presence on social networks. The website can be found here: www.fdi-forum.com.
