Jakarta, 1 April 2024: ERIA’s Regional Knowledge Centre for Marine Plastic Debris (RKC-MPD) has unveiled its revamped website, now live at rkcmpd-eria.org. The updated platform promises to serve as a central hub for individuals, organisations, and policymakers dedicated to tackling this environmental challenge in Southeast and East Asia.
‘We are excited to launch the revamped website of the Regional Knowledge Centre for Marine Plastic Debris. This updated platform reflects our commitment to providing valuable resources and fostering collaboration in the global effort to combat marine plastic pollution. We believe that by empowering stakeholders with accessible information, we can inspire science-driven action towards a cleaner and healthier ocean environment,’ said Reo Kawamura, Director for Environmental Policy and the RKC-MPD.
At the heart of the website's overhaul is its streamlined navigation system, designed to enhance user experience. With a simplified layout and intuitive design, visitors can easily navigate the site and access a wealth of information on available resources and programs. One of the main highlights of the updated website is its extensive resource collection, including academic articles and regulatory documents aimed at informing and empowering stakeholders involved in addressing marine plastic debris.
While the website is now live with enhanced features, the RKC-MPD also announces that the Private Sector section will be accessible in April.
In an era of growing environmental concerns, initiatives like the updated website play a crucial role in driving positive change. By providing accessible information and fostering collaboration in the ASEAN+3 region, the platform exemplifies the collective effort needed to safeguard the health of our oceans for generations to come.
