ERIA Executive Director Meets with Russian Ambassador to ASEAN

Prof. Hidetoshi Nishimura, Executive Director of ERIA, visited H.E. Mr. Mikhail Galuzin, Ambassador of Russian Federation to ASEAN, on 2 April 2015.

Prof. Nishimura informed the Ambassador that he visited Russia to attend the International Energy Forum in May 2014, and he also briefed the Ambassador on ERIA's activities in energy, infrastructure, connectivity, SMEs, and ASEAN community building, among others.

He invited the Ambassador to the 2nd ERIA-Russia Dialogue Partner Meeting, to be held on 5 June 2015, in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The Ambassador indicated his strong interest in ERIA and its research and said that Russia has been strengthening its ties and involvement in EAS activities. In this context, the Ambassador expressed his readiness to attend the ERIA-Russia Dialogue Partner Meeting on 5 June with the aim to deepen the relationship between Russia and ERIA.

Both dignitaries exchanged views on the achievements and challenges ASEAN faces in 2015 and post 2015 and explored future collaboration between the two.
