ERIA Executive Director is invited to the World Economic Forum on East Asia

Prof. Hidetoshi Nishimura attended as a special guest to the World Economic Forum on East Asia on 19-21 April 2015 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Over 700 delegates from 40 countries, including 40 ministers and representatives participated in this three-day event.

On this occasion, Prof. Nishimura met with ministers and business leaders.

In his meeting with Dato Sri Mustapa Mohamed, Minister of International Trade and Industry (MITI) of Malaysia, Prof. Nishimura showcased the recognition of ERIA's work on the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) in the ASCC Council Statement of 26 March 2015. Prof. Nishimura further explained to the Minister ERIA's deliverables and activities to support the Malaysian Chairmanship of ASEAN and East Asia Summit in 2015. The Minister assured his full support to ERIA's activities during 2015 and beyond.

Dr. Rebecca Fatima Sta Maria, Secretary General of MITI Malaysia, likewise attended the meeting.
