Unpacking the RCEP Agreement: Public-Private Dialogue Series #4- Investment

Unpacking the RCEP Agreement: Public-Private Dialogue Series - Dialogue #4

The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) marks the establishment of a free trade agreement among the 15 member states. The RCEP Investment Provisions aims to foster the investment ecosystem across ASEAN and relevant RCEP participating countries. Investment has become a significant driver of economic growth over the years, especially when most RCEP countries face economic fallout due to COVID-19. Thus, facilitating a conducive investment ecosystem for all stakeholders is crucial to fostering the region’s more attractive and viable market. The ERIA’s Capacity Building Programme with the Secretary-General of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) will co-host a ‘Public-Private Dialogues: Unpacking the RCEP Agreement#4- Investment' on 29 June. This dialogue will discuss the RCEP Investment Provision in order to unpack different business interests in assessing their level of preparedness and understanding of how the RCEP chapter on investment could be a game-changer in the services industry.
