Koji Hachiyama holds a Bachelor’s and Master's degree in Engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan.
Koji Hachiyama has been serving as the Chief Operating Officer, ERIA since July 2019. He started his career in the Ministry of International Trade and Industry of Japan (now known as the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry) in 1992 and served in various positions, including the Embassy of Japan in Indonesia (1997-2001) throughout the years.
Before coming to ERIA, he served as the Counsellor in the National Strategy Office of Information Communications Technology (ICT) at the Cabinet Secretariat of Japan. From 2014 to 2017, he served as the Director of the Information Technology (IT) Department at JETRO New York and as the Head of the New York Representative Office of the Information Technology Promotion Agency (IPA), Japan.
