Socio-Economic of Coal Transition in Viet Nam
Project Overview
The study aims to investigate the socio-economic implications of coal phase-out in Viet Nam. It will examine the potential impacts on employment, including workers in coal mines and coal-fired power plants, as well as the broader effects on local economies, such as community displacement and financial risks. In addition, it will assess environmental risks associated with post-closure impacts.
Based on these findings, the study will provide policy recommendations to support a just and sustainable transition away from coal in Viet Nam.
