Critical Minerals Supply Chains Security and Resiliency in the ASEAN, Vol. 2
Project Overview
This study brings together insights from resource modelling, systematic reviews, value chain analysis, and mineral development impact assessments to inform sustainable policies for critical mineral supply chains. It explores the role of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, advanced extraction methods, and secondary mining, in fostering sustainable battery production and electric vehicle deployment, which are key pathways to achieving carbon neutrality.
Regional and country case studies provide best-practice strategies for addressing risks and ensuring secure supply, with a focus on ASEAN’s ambition to reach near net zero by 2050. The analysis blends qualitative and quantitative methods, supported by econometric estimation where appropriate, to deliver robust evidence.
By integrating policy lessons with technology options, the book offers practical recommendations for resilient, ethical, and sustainable supply chains. It is particularly relevant to ASEAN and broader Asian economies, including China, India, and Australia, positioning the region as a key player in the global green transition.
