Project Overview

This study will deliver practical guidance to Batam's policymakers, enabling informed decisions that balance industrial growth with environmental sustainability and energy affordability, ultimately ensuring long-term energy security and economic resilience for Batam Island.

The overarching goal of this study is to identify the most realistic, economically viable, and sustainable power generation mix for Batam Island from 2025 to 2060. Specifically, the study aims to:

• Analyse current and projected energy supply–demand dynamics.
• Evaluate feasible energy generation scenarios through energy modelling.
• Provide practical, actionable policy recommendations to enhance energy security, affordability, and climate and environmental sustainability.
