ERIA SoG Shares Insights on Semiconductor Supply Chain Strategy at Danantara TIIF 2026
Jakarta, 28 October 2026: Professor Nobuhiro Aizawa, Dean and Managing Director of the ERIA School of Government (SoG), spoke at the Danantara Technology Innovation Investment Forum (TIIF) 2026. He was featured in a breakout session titled ‘Strategic Materials for Industrial Transformation: Building Resilient Supply Chains and Long-Term Competitiveness’ on the third day of the forum.
Prof. Aizawa was joined by Prof. Trio Adiono, Chairman of the Indonesia Chip Design Collaborative Center (ICDEC), and Prof. Arief Udhiarto, Chairman of the Indonesian Forum for Higher Education in Electrical Engineering (FORTEI) and Dean of Universitas Indonesia’s Electrical Engineering Department. The session was moderated by Mr Odi Ariyanto, Expert at the Mineral Industry Agency.
Prof. Aizawa emphasised that Indonesia needs to invest in public research infrastructure, such as university-attached research centres, and capitalise on its vast domestic edge-computing market to build a resilient microelectronics ecosystem. He stressed that the country must act swiftly to capture semiconductor supply chain partnerships – a crucial step to build national economic resilience and secure high-value domestic jobs before regional opportunities close.
The panel concluded that Indonesia must move beyond being a passive technology consumer by synchronising university talent development, domestic market demand anchors, and strategic international partnerships across the semiconductor value chain.
Professor Aizawa’s contribution to the discussion highlights ERIA’s commitment to strengthening regional co-operation and addressing emerging economic challenges in Asia.
