Jakarta, 17 November 2023: Tetsuya Watanabe, President of the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia, paid a courtesy visit to Dr Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN. The two parties discussed potential collaboration and the strengthening of partnerships in key emerging issues. Additionally, they talked about the upcoming ASEAN-JAPAN Commemorative Summit scheduled for 16-18 December 2023 in Tokyo, Japan.

President Watanabe was accompanied by Daisuke Tsukao, Deputy Director General for ASEAN and East Asian Affairs and Administration, Naoto Okura, Policy Fellow at the Office of the President, and Tomy Waskitho, Research Associate at the Office of the President.
