Leaders Gather for the 2nd Asia Zero Emissions Community Meeting in Vientiane

Vientiane, 11 October 2024: Prime Minister of Japan, H.E. Shigeru Ishiba, convened the 2nd Asia Zero Emissions Community Leaders Meeting in Vientiane, Lao PDR, on the final day of the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summit and Related Meetings.

President ERIA Tetsuya Watanabe participated in the meeting as an observer. Leaders from AZEC partner countries, including Australia and various Southeast Asian nations, attended the meeting.

In the joint statement, the leaders welcomed the launch of the Asia Zero Emissions Centre at ERIA and tasked the centre with conducting various activities to support the AZEC initiatives and vision.
