Phnom Penh, 4 July 2024: ERIA President Tetsuya Watanabe paid a courtesy visit to Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, H.E. Dr Aun Pornmoniroth.

During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister shared an overview of the Royal Government of Cambodia’s key economic priorities and suggested that ERIA continue its close collaboration with the Ministry of Economy and Finance by providing policy studies and recommendations.

President Watanabe expressed his gratitude for the steadfast support of the Royal Government of Cambodia since ERIA’s establishment. He emphasised ERIA’s continued commitment to supporting the Royal Government of Cambodia by providing policy studies and recommendations, as well as facilitating a multistakeholder platform that brings together the government, knowledge partners, and private sectors. Such support enables research to be transformed into tangible actions that contribute to Cambodia’s economic development. The Deputy Prime Minister warmly welcomed these initiatives and looks forward to working closely with ERIA.
