ERIA President Meets Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, 4 November 2024: ERIA President Tetsuya Watanabe met with the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato' Sri Haji Fadillah Haji Yusof, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

President Watanabe was accompanied by Dr Nuki Agya Utama, Director for Energy Policy and Head of the Asia Zero Emissions Centre; Dr Intan Ramli, Senior Policy Fellow; Dr Han Phoumin, Senior Energy Economist; and Tomy Waskitho, Executive Secretary to the President and Research Associate.

The meeting, which took place between sessions of the Malaysian Parliament, focused on ERIA’s potential support for Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025, particularly in the energy sector. Both ERIA and the Malaysian government are keen to collaborate closely to ensure the success of Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025.
