Tokyo, 29 May 2025: ERIA participated in the AZEC Leading Action Forum (AZEC LEAF), held in Tokyo from 26 to 29 May 2025. Organised by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the forum brought together senior working-level officials from Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC) partner countries to share national initiatives and explore future challenges under the ‘Sectoral Initiatives’ framework adopted at the 2nd AZEC Ministerial Meeting in Indonesia (August 2024).
The forum featured in-depth discussions on each country's energy transition roadmap; decarbonisation strategies across the power, transport, and industrial sectors; and the current state of transition finance.
As part of ERIA’s engagement, Dr Nuki Agya Utama, Head of the Asia Zero Emission Center (AZE Center) at ERIA, delivered a presentation on the ASEAN energy landscape. Additional support was provided by ERIA representatives Dr Li Yanfei (Research Fellow), Dr Alloysius Joko Purwanto (Energy Economist), and Sho Hayashi (Project Officer on Energy), who served as session moderators.
ERIA reaffirms its commitment to supporting regional efforts towards a just, inclusive, and practical energy transition in Asia, in close collaboration with AZEC partner countries.
