Jakarta, 26 November 2024: ERIA officially launched E-DISC Entreprenova, a dynamic knowledge transfer programme consisting of masterclasses to equip Southeast Asian entrepreneurs with a global business perspective. The launch, held at the E-DISC co-working space at ERIA’s Jakarta office, was strategically timed to coincide with Global Entrepreneurship Month.
The launch ceremony was held alongside the Third EECOLE Roundtable – AI and Entrepreneurial Ecosystems, creating a synergistic platform for dialogue and learning. E-DISC Entreprenova attracted a diverse group of 60 participants, including startup entrepreneurs and investors in the region and attendees of the EECOLE Roundtable.
The day culminated with the insightful masterclass, titled ‘Venturing Your Business Journey: Balancing Hyperlocal and Global Business Strategies.’ It featured a panel of experts comprising Eddi Danusaputro, CEO of BNI Ventures; Edward Chamdani, Partner at Braxton Capital; Bayu Seto, Partner at Living Lab Ventures; and Mikiko Steven, Managing Director of Xendit. They lent their expertise on scaling businesses in both local and global markets and shared the same mission of empowering cross-border collaboration in the ASEAN startup ecosystem. Jesslyn Gunawan from Trihill Capital moderated the discussion, while ERIA also had the opportunity to utilise Meeting.ai’s technology for transcribing and analysing the discussion.
The E-DISC Entreprenova programme embodies E-DISC’s commitment to nurturing globally minded startups and entrepreneurs. With the programme’s theme, ‘Think Global,’ E-DISC emphasises the importance of empowering businesses from their early stages to accelerate economic growth across ASEAN and East Asia. This initiative is part of ERIA’s ongoing efforts to support the development of sustainable entrepreneurship and promote cross-border knowledge sharing. E-DISC Entreprenova is scheduled to run until April 2025, with each masterclass held monthly and focusing on a specific topic.
Another event was held on the same day: the Jakarta Startup Showcase. Eight innovative startups and ecosystem builders – TOYEIGHT, Kemaih, Ipinfra Networks, Nikkei BizRuptors, KUMPUL, Modalku, Meeting.ai, and Smplhr – delivered presentations about their companies. Additionally, the event featured Open-Mic Pitching, in which three emerging startups – Fellas Indonesia, Ikanesia, and Shieldbase.ai – presented their innovative solutions through elevator pitches, showcasing the diversity of entrepreneurial talent in the region.
The day concluded with a vibrant networking session in the exhibition area, offering participants the chance to connect, exchange insights, and explore collaboration opportunities with investors, mentors, and other entrepreneurs.
