Celine Kusnadi joined ERIA in January 2025 as a Research Associate for the Regional Knowledge Centre for Marine Plastic Debris (RKC-MPD). In this role, she conducts research and addresses capacity-building needs across a diverse range of stakeholders on plastic waste issues in ASEAN. Her work supports ASEAN Member States in strengthening waste management systems and promoting sustainable practices, contributing to regional efforts in line with the ASEAN Framework of Action on Marine Debris.
Prior to joining ERIA, she worked at the US-ASEAN Business Council, where she coordinated advocacy efforts between the public and private sectors. Her work focused on advancing regional cooperation in international trade and policy alignment within ASEAN, particularly in relation to the digital and sustainable economy. In this role, she engaged ASEAN stakeholders—including the ASEAN Secretariat and its sectoral bodies—through recommendation papers, capacity-building initiatives, business missions, and policy dialogues.
Her professional background also includes experience with NGOs and think tanks in Iowa, Washington, D.C., and Jakarta, where she contributed to initiatives on international economic development, global conflict and transnational security, and citizen diplomacy.
Celine holds a bachelor's degree in international relations from the University of Iowa, with concentrations in International Business and Economic Relations, and a minor in Business Administration.
