Profile

Celine Kusnadi joined ERIA in January 2025 as a Research Associate for the Regional Knowledge Centre for Marine Plastic Debris (RKC-MPD). In this capacity, she conducts research and addresses capacity-building needs related to plastic waste management and marine plastic pollution across the ASEAN region. Her work supports ASEAN Member States in improving waste management systems and implementing sustainable practices, contributing to regional efforts to strengthen the ASEAN Framework of Action on Marine Debris.

Celine brings extensive expertise from the private sector in international trade, public policy, and advocacy, with a particular focus on the ASEAN region. Prior to joining ERIA, she was with the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC), where she coordinated advocacy efforts on digital trade and circular economy issues. During her tenure, Celine managed high-level business missions and capacity-building programmes, engaging with the ASEAN Secretariat, the ASEAN Economic Ministers’ Meetings, and various ASEAN sectoral bodies to foster collaboration between the public and private sectors.

Her professional experience spans various NGOs and think tanks based in Iowa, Washington, D.C., and Jakarta, where she worked in the fields of international economic development, global conflict and transnational security, and citizen diplomacy.

Education

Celine holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Iowa, with concentrations in International Business and Economic Relations, and a minor in Business Administration.
