ERIA Supports Development of Framework for Circular Economy for the ASEAN Economic Community

Brunei Darussalam, 18 October 2021: ASEAN economic ministers adopted the Framework for Circular Economy for the ASEAN Economic Community at the 20th AEC Council Meeting on 18 October 2021. The Framework sets out an ambitious long-term vision for the circular economy, building on the strengths of existing initiatives, and identifies priority areas for action along with enablers, to realise circular economy in ASEAN. 

The Framework is a priority economic deliverable under Brunei Darussalam’s 2021 ASEAN Chairmanship and was developed by the ASEAN Secretariat in collaboration with the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA).
