Jakarta, 7 October 2025: ERIA President Tetsuya Watanabe met with Dr Meenakshi Lekhi, Former Minister of State for External Affairs of India and Member of the Board of Governors of the Council for International Economic Understanding (CIEU), at the ERIA office in Jakarta. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the High-Level Roundtable Discussions, ‘Reimagining the World with India + ASEAN’, co-organised by ERIA and CIEU.

During the meeting, both leaders discussed ways to strengthen collaboration between research and policy institutions to advance evidence-based policymaking. They underscored the vital role of think tanks and knowledge networks – such as ERIA and CIEU – in supporting governments to make informed policy decisions.

They also explored potential avenues for future co-operation, including joint workshops and studies on emerging issues such as trade, sustainability, and digital transformation, aimed at fostering regional co-operation and shared prosperity.
