Ha Noi, 23 April 2024: After participating in the ASEAN Future Forum 2024, ERIA’s President Tetsuya Watanabe paid a courtesy visit to HE Nguyen Hong Son, Vice Chairman of Viet Nam's Central Economic Affairs Commission (CEC).

President Watanabe introduced ERIA’s activities, focusing on digital economy and innovation and energy transition, while HE Son provided details of the activities conducted by the CEC. They also discussed the challenges and opportunities in the region, particularly in achieving sustained economic growth and sustainable development.

President Watanabe presented HE Son with ERIA’s publication Viet Nam 2045: Development and Issues, which was created to support Viet Nam in achieving high-income status by 2045. Both parties agreed to explore more concrete cooperation in areas which will benefit both Viet Nam society and the region as a whole.
