Jakarta, 23 May 2025: ERIA President Tetsuya Watanabe received a courtesy visit from H.E. Long Guoqiang, Vice President (Vice Minister) of the Development Research Center (DRC) of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, at ERIA’s office in Jakarta.

The meeting served as a platform for both sides to exchange views on the current geopolitical and economic landscape in Asia. Discussions focused on the evolving role of ASEAN and East Asia amid global uncertainties, and the growing importance of strengthened regional cooperation.

President Watanabe and Vice Minister Long also discussed key regional priorities, including the energy transition and innovation. Both sides expressed interest in exploring opportunities for future collaboration between ERIA and the DRC to support regional resilience and sustainable development.
