President Tetsuya Watanabe Meets with Brunei's Minister for Transportation and Intercommunication

Bandar Seri Begawan, 10 June 2024: On the sidelines of the AIPA (ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly) Tripartite Forum, President Tetsuya Watanabe held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Pengiran Shamhary bin Pengiran Mustapha, Minister for Transportation and Intercommunication of Brunei Darussalam.

During their meeting, President Watanabe and H.E. Pengiran Shamhary bin Pengiran Mustapha exchanged views on the prospects and challenges of the digital economy in ASEAN. They also discussed decarbonisation strategies for the transportation sector. President Watanabe introduced the forthcoming Asia Zero Emission Centre (AZEC), which will be established in ERIA, and expressed a commitment to collaborating with the ASEAN Centre for Climate Change, which will be hosted in Brunei. Both parties are keen to closely collaborate.
