Prof. Hidetoshi Nishimura had a meeting with H.E. Cham Prasidh, Senior Minister, Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy, Royal Government of Cambodia on October 30,2013 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Prof. Nishimura briefed the Minister on latest ERIA's activities, especially in the energy field as well as the outcomes of the 5th East Asia Summit in Brunei Darussalam in October 2013 and East Asia Summit Energy Ministers Meeting in Indonesia in September 2013.

Prof. Nishimura also explained to the Minister about the future energy demand which will be doubled in the next 20 years, also 85% energy consumption coming from ASEAN and East Asia Region. In this context, Prof. Nishimura hoped for an extensive cooperation with Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy, Royal Government of Cambodia to realize the initiatives regarding energy sustainability in Cambodia.

The Minister welcomed ERIA's goodwill and initiative to cooperate with Cambodia.
