Phnom Penh, 19 February 2025: ERIA President Tetsuya Watanabe met with H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice-Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), in Phnom Penh to discuss ERIA's ongoing support for Cambodia’s economic diversification strategy.

During the meeting, President Watanabe presented ERIA’s proposed study on the Special Economic Zone and Green Industrial Park Policy, aimed at fostering productivity growth and economic diversification in Cambodia. This study follows up on President Watanabe’s meeting with Prime Minister Hun Manet in November 2024, reaffirming ERIA’s commitment to supporting Cambodia’s long-term economic development.

ERIA is dedicated to delivering the results of this study to the Government of Cambodia to help advance the country’s goal of achieving high-income status by 2050, in line with the Prime Minister's vision. The study will provide policy recommendations to enhance industrial competitiveness, attract sustainable investments, diversify the economy, and promote green economic growth.

As a trusted knowledge partner, ERIA remains committed to fostering economic resilience and sustainable development in Cambodia and the wider ASEAN region.
