Putrajaya, 7 August 2024: ERIA President Tetsuya Watanabe paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Rafizi Ramli, Malaysia’s Minister of Economic Affairs, in Putrajaya on 7 August 2024. During his visit, President Watanabe introduced the ERIA Asia Zero Emission Centre, which will be launched on 21 August 2024, alongside the Ministerial Meeting of the Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC) in Jakarta. He also sought guidance on how the centre can better serve the region as a policy platform for achieving net-zero and advancing decarbonisation.

H.E. Rafizi Ramli congratulated ERIA on the establishment of the new centre and expressed a desire to collaborate with ERIA during Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025. President Watanabe welcomed the opportunity to further collaborate with the Malaysian government on decarbonisation and energy transition efforts.
