Phnom Penh, 1 July 2024: ERIA President Tetsuya Watanabe and H.E. Dr Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia (NCB), met in Phnom Penh following their previous meeting in April 2024 when ERIA and NCB signed a Memorandum of Understanding on green financing. The discussion between the Governor of the National Bank and President Watanabe covered topics including access to finance and a collaborative pilot project on green finance. Governor Chea Serey was interested to hear about the new ERIA Asia Zero Emission Centre (AZEC) as well as the School of Government being established within ERIA.

The collaboration between ERIA and the National Bank of Cambodia is expected to pave the way for future initiatives that support sustainable development and financial inclusion in the region.
