Cologny, 9 September 2024: The President of ERIA and delegation participated in the World Economic Forum (WEF) roundtable on ‘The Role of Higher Education in Supporting the ASEAN Economic Community, ’ which took place in Cologny, Switzerland.

The event brought together prominent leaders, including Malaysia's Minister of Higher Education, H.E. Zambry Bin Abd Kadir, ASEAN Ambassadors and Representatives in Geneva, Vice-Chancellors from Malaysian universities, and experts from the World Trade Institute (WTI), Institut Kajian Malaysia dan Antarbangsa (IKMAS), WEF, and ERIA. Held under the Chatham House Rule, the discussions covered a broad range of issues related to higher education in ASEAN and its role in fostering the region's sustainable economic growth, contributing to the long-term vision for ASEAN in 2045.

Prior to the roundtable, ERIA’s President, Tetsuya Watanabe, met with WEF's Head of Regional Agenda for Asia-Pacific, Joo-Ok Lee, at the WEF headquarters to explore potential avenues for collaboration.
