Jakarta, 21 May 2025: ERIA President Tetsuya Watanabe paid a courtesy visit to Her Excellency Ambassador Latifah Zaini, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to ASEAN, at her office in Jakarta.

During the meeting, President Watanabe expressed his deep appreciation to the Government of Brunei Darussalam for its continued support of ERIA’s work. He also highlighted the upcoming ERIA Governing Board and Ambassadors’ Meetings, and looked forward to Brunei’s active participation in both events.

Ambassador Latifah conveyed her gratitude for ERIA’s ongoing contributions, especially its support during the recent ASEAN Centre for Climate Change (ACCC) workshop held in April 2025. The event was co-organised by ERIA and Brunei’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She also acknowledged ERIA’s impactful policy recommendations and its support for cross-pillar initiatives in areas such as energy, economic integration, and the work of the ERIA Digital Innovation and Sustainable Economy Centre (E-DISC).

Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening co-operation and explored potential areas for future collaboration to promote regional prosperity and sustainability.
