Vientiane, 21 September 2024: On the sidelines of the EAS-EMM (East Asia Summit Economic Ministers Meeting), ERIA President Tetsuya Watanabe held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Piyush Goyal, the Union Minister of Commerce and Industry of India, in Vientiane, Lao PDR.

President Watanabe expressed gratitude to Minister Goyal for the Indian Government's renewed funding commitment to ERIA and thanked him for his time in Delhi last December. Both parties discussed regional integration, supply chains, and international trade, as well as how ERIA can support the strengthening of ASEAN–India trade relationships for mutual benefit.
