Koki Akabane joined ERIA in July 2025 as a Programme Manager for Energy at the Asian Zero Emission Centre (AZEC). He holds a Master of Science in Advanced Energy from the University of Tokyo, Japan. Before joining ERIA, Koki was a Power System Engineer at TEPCO Power Grid, Inc. from July 2022 to June 2025. During this time, he was involved in technical planning and the promotion of renewable energy projects, conducted dynamic simulations of HVDC links and island power systems, and participated in IEC standardization activities. He began his career at TEPCO Power Grid, Inc. as an Overhead Transmission Engineer from April 2018 to June 2022, where he was responsible for deterioration assessments and the reconstruction of transmission towers.
