The ASEAN-ERIA Dialogue on Digital Trade aims to provide an opportunity for ASEAN Member State (AMS) officials to engage directly with academe, the private sector, and experts on how to maximize the use of e-commerce as a strategy to revitalize the economy during and after the COVID-19 pandemic and ensure the sustainable digital transformation of the economy founded on best practices. The dialogue would also assist AMSs to advance new policy initiatives and bold measures to promote e-commerce, especially after the ASEAN Agreement on E-commerce enters into force by the end of 2020.

The topics of the dialogue will focus on measures to enhance the e-commerce activities through the policy framework to encourage (1) the active participation of businesses, especially micro small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs); (2) trust and confidence of the consumers in e-commerce activities; and (3) cross-border digital trade in ASEAN countries.
