Women have made up a small percentage of the workforce in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) both in developed and emerging countries. The global and regional push towards Industry 4.0 and the Digital Economy makes an increased participation of women and girls in STEM education, jobs, and careers fundamental for the future economy. In ASEAN, more women are visibly championing careers and businesses in these fields and more have jumped onto the start-up bandwagon to become female entrepreneurs in the tech sector. However, there is still room to encourage many more women and girls to pursue STEM careers.
How will the COVID-19 pandemic affect this upward trend, or will it fuel an even greater surge as opportunities present itself in the digital world post-pandemic? Come hear from a panel of female entrepreneurs in STEM as well as our economic experts as they deliberate and share their thoughts in this upcoming webinar session.
