Report the Outcomes of the Summits to JBIC

Prof. Hidetoshi Nishimura, Executive Director of ERIA reported the outcomes of 21st ASEAN Summit, 7th East Asia Summit and related meetings to Chief Representatives of Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) in Asia and Pacific region on November 22, 2012 at JBIC Representative Office in Singapore.

Prof. Nishimura made a presentation on ERIA's main activities including the outcomes of the recent Summits.Both parties focused to discuss on the topics of infrastructure development and ASEAN Connectivity. In this regard, Prof. Nishimura introduced Comprehensive Asia Development Plan (CADP) Phase 1-3, Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity (MPAC) and Myanmar Comprehensive Development Vision (MCDV).

In concluding, he touched upon paragraph 14 of Chairman's Statement of 7th East Asia Summit, the topic of financing connectivity issue. They discussed future prospects of the development in the region and exchanged views on further cooperation between both parties.
