Prof. Hidetoshi Nishimura, Executive Director of ERIA, speaks on Japan's Resilience in East Asia Network

Prof. Hidetoshi Nishimura, Executive Director of ERIA, was invited as a keynote lecturer to the book publication ceremony on "Building National Resilience" organized by the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) of Japan on April 10, 2013 at the headquarters office of LDP.

The ceremony was moderated by Mr. Takamori Yoshikawa, Chief of National Resilience Committee. Mr. Shigeru Ishiba, Secretary General of its Committee, Mr. Toshihiro Nikai, Chairman of its committee, and H.E. Mr. Keiji Furuya, Minister of Disaster Management and Building National Resilience of Japan, made their remarks. Around 500 participants were there.

Prof. Nishimura made a presentation entitled "Japan's Resilience in East Asia Network". He introduced ERIA's activities such as Comprehensive Asia Development Plan (CADP), Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity (MPAC), Myanmar Comprehensive Development Vision (MCDV) and Mid-Term Review of the Implementation of AEC Blueprint and explained the importance of production network in Asia for Japan's economic recovery form the Great East Japan Earthquake and infrastructure development in the region especially pointing to the role of Mekong-India Economic Corridor (MIEC) , saying "deepening of ASEAN economic integration will contribute to the Japan's resilience".
