Prof. Hidetoshi Nishimura, Executive Director of ERIA visited Brunei Darussalam on 18 April, 2013 and he had a meeting with Hon.�Pehin Dato�Mohammad Yasmin Umar,�Minister of Energy, Brunei Darussalam.

The Minister suggested complementing the study by adding LNG and its infrastructure for the whole region. Also, the Minister expressed his keen interest in SMEs and innovation and especially those SMEs which were related to gas and oil industry due to their direct relevance to Brunei economy. The minister also suggested ERIA to have close interaction with Brunei National Energy Research Institute (BNERI).

The meeting was also attended by senior researchers from ERIA and Mr. Azhar Yahya, Permanent Secretary (Upstream), Ministry of Energy.
