Prof. Hidetoshi Nishimura, Executive Director of ERIA met with Hon. Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister of Gujarat, India, on February 22, 2013 in Gandhinagar. They had fruitful discussions on forging partnership between Gujarat and ERIA for human resource and skill development among technical professionals, especially in the automobile manufacturing sector.

The Chief Minister expressed the state government's determination for lending full co-operation to the Asian Professional Education Network (APEN) programme of ERIA, and suggested the Gujarat Technological University (GTU) to join the APEN for human resource development in the field of technology.Prof. Nishimura lauded the Chief Minister's vision behind the development of Gujarat's automobile manufacturing sector and suggested to jointly organize a symposium on skill developments. The Chief Minister welcomed Mr. Nishimura's suggestion and appreciated the co-operation extended by JETRO and ERIA.
