ERIA Participates in the Asia Think Tank Summit in Tokyo

Ms Anita Prakash, Director, Policy Relations, attended the Asian Think Tank Summit organised by the ADBI and Think Tanks and Civil Societies Programme (TTCSP) of University of Pennsylvania in Tokyo on 13-14 June 2013.

The Summit was attended by Think Tanks from East, South and Central Asia. The summit discussed the opportunities and threats faced by Asia in the coming years. It also drew recommendations for Think Tanks contribution to the policy making process in the country/region and how they would strengthen the capacities of the governments in facing the challenges in the policy making process. On behalf of ERIA, it was recommended that excellence and relevance of research alone would enthuse the policy makers to utilise the research outcomes for policy making process. Independent and transparent governance of Think Tanks was also recommended as important for the Think Tanks.
