Director of AMRO Visits ERIA

Mr. Yoichi Nemoto, Director of ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) visited ERIA on 4 February and had a meeting with Prof. Hidetoshi Nishimura, Executive Director of ERIA, ERIA economists and senior officials.

Prof. Nishimura explained that, as mentioned in the 4th ERIA Governing Board Statement issued in June 2011, the Institute will work together with AMRO to facilitate detailed up-to-date economic information and data exchange among ASEAN and East Asian countries.

Prof. Nishimura also spoke to Mr. Nemoto about ERIA's achievements, highlighting the outcomes from the 9th East Asia Summit.

Mr. Nemoto noted and commended ERIA's continued support to the building of the ASEAN community by 2015.

Prof. Nishimura and Mr. Nemoto exchanged views on developments in the region, as well as ERIA and AMRO cooperation.

Prof. Nishimura looked forward to working closely with AMRO to further strengthen the relationship between the two organizations.
